After being tweaked in this blog this morning the Friends of Will Committee finally filed its 11-Day Pre-General Election report, a week late, today. It was due on Oct. 26 and was supposed to disclose all income and expense through Oct. 22.
The Wadsworth campaign filed the previous 32-Day Pre-General report 12 days late and it appeared to be incomplete in a number of areas. See previous blog entry. The new report shows the campaign raised just $269 in October and spent a large part of its available cash.
Total expenses of $6,008 left just $1,319 on hand. The largest expenditure was $1,755 for lawn signs. This was three times the amount spent in my campaign and probably represents about 500 signs, which are much in evidence around the town.
It still appears that the committee has not accounted for the money raised and spent prior to the caucus which under the financial disclosure law must be reported as part of the same campaign, or in a separate report by the candidate.
As previously reported, the Wes Kennison campaign took in the most money in the most recent period buoyed by another $1,000 from the Joe Bucci family. In total Kennison reported taking in $3,319 since the Oct. 1 deadline of the previous report.
The Kennison Committee is the authorized committee for all three incumbent candidates which led to an unusual disclosure. Apparently the $250 donated by the Geneseo Republican Committee to David Dwyer was transferred to the “Re-elect Wes Committee.” Probably not exactly what Chairman Paul Schmied had in mind!
The Democrats brought in an additional $2,235 in October. Heavy hitters were Oliver Chanler with $500 and candidate Sally Wood who ponied up another $500 to go with her previous contribution of $550. (Actually $200 of that was for reserving the space for the Democrat’s tailgate party at the Hunt Races and getting all the candidates in.)
My own report showed that I have spent an additional $1,273, bring my grand total for the campaign so far to $3,987. Since I am not accepting financial help for this campaign, I have nothing to disclose there.
